OSAGE, IOWA - Clarence J. Brumm, age 86, of Osage, died Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 25, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Father Jack McClure, CPPS, officiating.

Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Osage with a flag presentation at the grave by Osage American Legion Post 278.

Visitation will be held from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a Knights of Columbus rosary at 5 p.m.

Clarence was born January 26, 1926, in Stacyville, the son of Joseph and Sophia (Halbach) Brumm. He graduated from Visitation High School in Stacyville. Clarence served in the Army, where he achieved the rank of sergeant, from 1950-1952 during the Korean Conflict. He received numerous medals including the Bronze Star.

Clarence married Marjorie Pitra on June 23, 1951, at Little Flower Chapel, Fort Sill, Okla.
He was a self-employed contractor at Brumm Construction Inc. Clarence was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Osage, the Knights of Columbus (past grand knight), Osage VFW Post 7920, Osage American Legion Post 278 and served on the city of Osage Board of Adjustment for 23 years. He enjoyed traveling, playing cards, woodworking and golfing.

Clarence is survived by his wife, Marjorie of Osage; his son, Richard (Karen) Brumm of Osage; seven grandchildren: Eric (Kim) Brumm of Ames, Andrew (Katie) Brumm of Osage, Marita Brumm of Mason City, Patti Brumm of Dallas, Texas, Nina Brumm of Dubuque, Shelly Brumm of Osage, and Isaac Brumm of Osage; two great-grandsons, Dex Anderegg of Dubuque and Tucker Brumm of Osage; a brother, Othmar (Betty) Brumm of Stacyville; and a sister, Joan Dworschak of Champaign, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Joseph in 1965, four sisters and four brothers.
