Lotta (Lottie) Odella Ask was born March 24, 1889 at Rock, Mitchell, Iowa to parents Ole Larsen Ask and Olava L. Monsen (Monsdatter); the last of their eight children. Her older siblings were: Lauritz Alfred, Mathilde Theoline, Mena Caroline, Wilhelm Barnard, Rudolph Cornelius, Ida Eleanora and Olga Amanda.

Lotta was baptized May 5, 1889 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church in Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. Her sponsors were: Mr and Mrs Anton Ask and L. Olsen and wife.

Lotta Ask was married November 16, 1921 at same church (RCLC) to Thorvald Olsen Synsby. The couple had 2 children: Doris B.(born 1924) and Alda (born 1927, died 2005) (Alda's obit can be found on this web site.)

Found Lotta in the 1895, 1900, 1910, 1915, 1920, 1925, 1930 censuses at Rock, Mitchell, Iowa:

1900: Ole L Ask 51, Olava Ask 46, Barnard Wm Ask 19, Rudolph C Ask 17, Ida A Ask 15, Olga A Ask 14, Lota O Ask 11.

1910: Lauritz A Ask 34, Bertha O Ask 28, Lattie O Ask 22.
1915: Lossie Ask age 26.
1920: Rudolph C O Ask 37, Ole L Ask 70, Olava Ask 66, Lotta Ask 30, Albert J Eidness 20[30].

1930: Thorvald Synsby 39[37], Lottie O Synsby 41, Dorris B Synsby 6, Alda Synsby 2 yrs 7 mos.

Lotta died June 5, 1965 at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa.

Lotta's husband, Thorvald Olsen Synsby born May 14, 1890 to Ole and Tonette Synsby. Emigrated to America and lived at North Dakota. Died February 1967 at Mason City, Cerro Gordo, Iowa.
