AGED RICEVILLE RESIDENT DIES
MRS. MATTIE PADDOCK, 80, SUCCUMBS; RITES TO BE HELD WEDNESDAYRiceville – Mrs. Mattie Paddock, 80, died Sunday noon at her home following a stroke suffered Saturday. A Mitchell County resident for 54 years, she had been an invalid for eight years.
Surviving are three daughters; Mrs. LeRoy Warrington of Little Cedar; Mrs. Roy Milbrandt of McIntire; and Marian Paddock of Riceville; two sons; F. H. Paddock of San Jose, California; and C. M. Paddock of Mesa, Arizona; ten grandchildren; and a sister; Annette Kingman of Kenosha, Wisconsin. Her husband preceded her in death 20 years ago.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 at the home and at 2 o’clock at the Methodist Church, with the Rev. R. M. Bell officiating, assisted by the Rev. Philip Calkins.
Burial will be in Brownsville Cemetery. The body will be at the Shoop Funeral Home until the funeral is held.

Martha Maria “Mattie” Paddock was born July 1859 in Wisconsin, the daughter of Enos Kingman and Elizabeth Gould Kingman. (1925 Iowa Riceville Census for their names). Her birth name comes from her daughters Mitchell Co., birth records, and the date of her birth from the 1900 US Census.
