OSAGE ACCIDENT VICTIM’S
FUNERAL SERVICES HELD

Osage – Funeral services were held here Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church in charge of the Rev. O. C. Myhre for Kristian Larson, 41, who died early Sunday morning of injuries received in an automobile accident a half our earlier.

Surviving are a half- brother; Iver P. Hagen of Los Angeles, California, who is very ill in a hospital there, and an uncle; Frank Jeffries of Osage. All other relatives are in Norway.

Kristian Larson was born at Grau, Hadeland, Norway on February 19, 1891. On July 29, 1911 he immigrated to America and came to Mitchell County, Iowa. He was employed as a farm laborer and when not employed, made his home with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Framstad. These friends not only paid for his passage to this country, but also were kind to him, counseled and cared for him as a member of their own family.

On July 25, 1917 he was drafted into the military service of the United States. Leaving Camp Gordon, Georgia, he sailed for France and served until being honorably discharged on May 1, 1918. Returning to this community, he had for many years been in the employ of Ingolf Motland.

The near relatives surviving him are: his mother at Hadeland, Norway; a brother, Iver of Portland, Oregon; his aunt, Mrs. Gilbert Framstad; and a large number of cousins.

Death came to him in an automobile accident on May 31, 1936.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. O.C. Myhre at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church on June 3, 1936 and interment was in the Rock Creek cemetery.

OSAGE MAN DEAD
IN CAR ACCIDENT
SUNDAY MORNING

Kris Larson Killed When
Car Bounces on Culvert
and Strikes Tree

Kristian Larson, 41, was killed Sunday morning when his car was bounced off the road into a tree. Harry Schultz, riding with him sustained a cut on the head and other minor injuries.

Mr. Larson, who works for Ingolf Motland, and Mr. Schultz were driving out of Osage on the Lime Kiln road, and at the culvert in the bottom of the dip just this side of the Chet Johnson place, their car was bounced off the road into a large tree standing nearby.

The car was left standing upright (badly wrecked) but the impact with the tree crushed Larson's chest, and he died within thrity minutes. Mr. Schultz who was driving the Plymouth coupe received many bruises and a cut on his head, but was able to walk around and help extricate his companion. He was brought to town where the cut was closed, then went to the home of his uncle, Frank Jeffries.

Larson Had No Relatives Here

Mr. Larson has worked as a farm hand in this vicinity for a long time, and years ago two half-brothers were here with him. One of them, Ole Hagen, was killed in an airplane crash about ten years ago, and the other, Iver P. Hagen, is in a Los Angeles hospital.

His other living near relatives are in Norway.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. at the Champion Funeral Home, in charge of the Reverend Stiles Lessly, pastor of the Congregational Church, and burial was made in the Osage Cemetery.
