Richard D. Cullen, age 76, of Osage, died Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center Hospice Unit in Osage.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with Rev. Stephen Bohling officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home.

Richard was born April 19, 1935, in Mitchell, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Rose (Mostek ) Cullen. He attended school in Mitchell. Richard was united in marriage to Mary Thoresen on May 17, 1974, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage. He worked for Hartwig Tiling and later at A to Z Drying until his retirement in 1994. Richard enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, fishing, gardening, dancing and listening to country bands.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Carol Cullen, and her daughters, Cheyenne and Cherokee, of Osage; his son, Joe Cullen of Charles City; former wife, Mary Cullen of Osage; aunt and uncle, Joe and Lois Mostek of Mitchell; niece, Angel Cullen; sister-in-law, Tina Cullen of Osage; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ronnie Cullen; a niece, Tammy Cullen; and many aunts and uncles.
