Funeral services were held on Friday, November 23, 1984 for Shirley Kurtz, 69, of Osage, Iowa, who died Monday, November 19, 1984, at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. Rev. L. Connolly officiated at the service with burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Osage. Champion Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kurtz was born on July 27, 1915 in Fairfield. He married Catherine Michels on June 4, 1941 in Osage and farmed near Osage all his married life.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine; three daughters, Mrs. Elon (Jane) Flack of Metter, Georgia; Mrs. Gary (Ann) Hoel of Mason City and Carol Eibes of Waterloo; one son, Joel of Westmont, Illinois; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Dewey (Marilyn) Foreman of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Charlotte Comisky of Osage, and two brothers, James of Pomona, Missouri and Wendell of Washington, D.C.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
