Funeral services were held for Ernestine Boots, November 12, 1984, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar. She died on November 9, 1984 in Osage, at the age of 86 years, 3 months and 23 days.

Ernestine Anna Steuerwald Bootz was born on July 18, 1898, at St. Ansgar, Iowa, the daughter of Dr. Charles Steuerwald and Minnie Lubiens Steuerwald. She was baptized as an infant at the St. Ansgar Methodist Church and later confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in 1916.

She is a graduate of the St. Ansgar schools and married Frederic Bootz. Mrs. Bootz worked for a time at a Waterloo newspaper but spent most of her life in St. Ansgar. She was a resident of the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Home when stricken by a heart attack.

She is survived by one son, Robert Bootz of Niles, Illinois, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one sister. Her parents preceded her in death.

The Rev. N. Betke officiated at the service with burial in St. Ansgar Cemetery. Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
