Funeral services for Marjorie Bohlen, age 44, were held in Alva, Oklahoma, on Monday, July 30, 1984. A memorial service will be held at St. Mel's Catholic Church in McIntire. Mrs. Bohlan passed away suddenly at the Alva Share Medical Center on Friday, July 27, 1984.
Marjorie Marie Richardson was born on October 21, 1939 near McIntire, Iowa. She was the daughter of Arla Marjorie Van de walker and Roy Louis Richardson. She attended the McIntire school system and graduated from high school with the class of 1957. She received her bachelor of arts degree from Upper Iowa University at Fayette in 1967 and a master's degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 1983.
Marjorie was united in marriage to David Herbert Bohlen on August 30, 1959 at mcIntire. Following their marriage they have lived in Madison, Wisconsin, Fayette, rural Nevada and Alva, Oklahoma. She taught part-time for Northwestern Oklahoma State Univeristy and in 1979 she started teaching in the Alva Junior High School in 8th grade history.
Mrs. Bohlen was a member of the Alva First Presbyterian Church, N.E.A., and O.E.A., a number of the genealogical societies, Act One and the Oklahoma Social Studies group.
She is survived by her husband, Dave; two children at home, Deanna Marie and Douglas Sean; a son, David Scott of Ames; parents, Arla and Roy Richardson of McIntire; two sisters, Ellen Flugge of Apple Valley, Minnesota, and Darla Donovan of Beloit, Wisconsin; two brothers, Ronald and Roger Richardson of McIntire and nieces and nephews.
