Miss Guri Rust was born in Gol Hollingdol, Norway, July 13, 1846. In the year 1852 she with her parents and sisters and brothers imigrated to America, residing for one year at Rock Prairie, Wis. The following year they joined Rev. Clausen's colony and moved west to St. Ansgar, Iowa. Here the family endured the hardships of pioneer life, but never-the-less they gained a home and were happy with the restricted opportunities.

The past 30 years Guri Rust has made her home with her brother, N.H. Rust and famly at whose home she died Sunday morning, October 3 after a lingering illness. She had been sick the past 3 years with palsy, gradually growing weaker and death came as a welcome boon from all her suffering.

Miss Rust was of a quiet christian nature, beloved by all her kin and it is our hope she went to her Heavenly home, to be reunited with those of hers who have gone before. The funeral was conducted Tuesday, October 5, by Rev. Waldeland at the N.L. church and her body was laid to rest at the beautiful N.L. Cemetery north of town.
