Henry Peter Arp was born on October 31, 1896 near Dysart, Homer, Benton, IA to Julius Edward Arp and Margaretha Elizabeth Jansen. Henry was the eldest of five children.

His siblings were:

1. Edward William Arp (born March 7, 1898 Homer, Benton, Iowa, died March 23, 1989 Osage, Mitchell, Iowa);
2. Elsie Sophia Arp (born December 2, 1899 Tama, Iowa, died March 25, 1981 St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa);
3. John B Arp (born March 8, 1900 Benton, Iowa, died November 26, 1938 Osage, Mitchell, Iowa) and
4. George A. Arp (born February 19, 1904 Tama, Iowa, died December 10, 1974 Osage, Mitchell, Iowa).

Henry (Hank) was a farmer, he never married and had no children.

Henry died December 27, 1951 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa and is buried at the Osage Cemetery.

Obituary, Mitchell County Press News, December 1951:
Henry (Hank) Arp, 55, died suddenly last Thursday afternoon following a heart attack in Osage. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Champion funeral home with the Rev. T. P. Solem officiating. Burial was in the Osage Cemetery.

Mr. Arp was single and lived on a farm northeast of Osage. He was born in Tama County, on October 31, 1896 to Julius and Mary (Margaretha Jansen) Arp.

In 1910, he moved with his parents to Burr Oak township, where he farmed until his death.

Survivors include his father Julius, two brothers, Ed and George of Osage; and a sister, Mrs. (Elsie) Louis Koster of St. Ansgar. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary and a brother John. Henry had his heart attack at the Osage Chevy Garage.
