Funeral services for an Osage resident, Mrs. John (Louise) Kurina, age 79, were held on Saturday at Champion Funeral Home. She died on Wednesday, June 6, 1984, at the White House Nursing Home in Osage. Rev. Jacob Roth of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Osage, officiated, and burial was in the Osage Cemetery.

Louise Schubert was born on July 3, 1904 in Yugoslavia, the daughter of Hugo and Katherine Schubert. She came to the United States in 1921.

She was united in marriage to John Kurina on October 15, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois, where they lived for 18 years. They later moved to Iowa and farmed near Osage for 30 years. After retiring they moved to Osage.

Survivors include her husband, John of Osage; one son, John of Seattle, Washington; three grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Johnson of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, and Mina Johnson of Geneva, Minnesota; two brothers, Jim Schubert of California and Victor Schubert of Chicago, Illinois.
