Funeral services for Mrs. Harvey (Velora) Hanson, 56, of Osage, were held on Monday, October 15, 1984 at Champion Funeral Home in Osage. Rev. C. Bunk, pastor of St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Toeterville, officiated at the service, with burial in the Little Cedar Cemetery. She died on Friday, October 12, 1984, at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital.
Velora (Babe) McFarland was born on November 25, 1927 in Rightstown, Minnesota, the daughter of Guy and Hazel Adams McFarland. The family moved to Iowa in 1930.
On March 20, 1943 Velora was united in marriage to Harvey G. Hansen in Osage.
Survivors include her husband, Harvey; four daughters: Linda Reams of Mona, Veleta Mausehand if Britt, Mrs. Darwin (Donna) Bruggeman of St. Ansgar and Mrs. Albert (Carrie) Leeman of Pella; three sons: Leon of Osage, Edward of St. Ansgar and Ira of Pella; 14 grandchildren; two sisters, Fama Lovejoy of Osage and Gladys Vokety of Charles City; and one brother, Arleigh McFarland of Osage.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Lorre and one son, Terry.
