Funeral services were held on Monday, April __ at Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter, for Paul Dockum. Rev. E. C. __ officiated at the service with burial in Deer Creek Cemetery.
Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home in St. Ansgar was in charge of arrangements.
Paul Carlton Docum was born near _____field, Illinois, on April 7, 1891, to Harry and Rosie B. Townsend Dockum.
On July 20, 1913 he was united in marriage to Edith Vernon of Woodward. To this union three chidlren were born, a daughter, Rosamond and two who died in infancy.
On December 30, 1922, he was married to ____ Johnson and to this union two children were born, Harry and Gerald. Paul worked as a barber, railroad engineer and for 60 years farmed near Carpenter.
In December, 1969 he married Ella Miracle and moved to Carpenter where he resided until his death. He was baptized in November 1938 and confirmed in the Deer Creek Lutheran church on December 2, 1938. Three generations of the family were confirmed the same day.
He is survived by one daughter, Rosamond Gordon of Carpenter; two sons, Harry Dockum of Carpenter and Gerald Dockum of Des Moines; one brother, Ernest Dockum of St. Ansgar and by two sisters, Verda Anderson of Northwood and Helen Harrison of Hampton; 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wives; two infant children; two brothers, Alpheus and Leslie; one sister, Lucy, and five grandchildren.
