Gina Louise Anderson was born July 4, 1888 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa, to John Gerhard Anderson and Karen Gudbrandsdatter Liaeker. Gina was the second of five children. Her siblings were: Gustave Johann (1896-1916), Julius (1891-1979), Lise (1894-1954) and Anders (1896-1976).

Gina was baptized in 1888 and confirmed on June 1, 1902 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.

She can be found in the 1895 and 1900 censuses living at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa, with her parents: 1900: John G. Anderson 40, Karn Anderson 41, Gustav Anderson 14, Gina L. Anderson 11, Julijns Anderson 9, Lise Anderson 5, Anders Anderson 3, Gulbe? Licker 71.
