ARTHUR BRUSH IS DEAD

Passed Away Saturday-Had Been in Poor Health
for Some Time - Funeral Tuesday

Arthur Brush was born in Brewster, N.Y., May 5, 1849, and died at his home in this city on the 30th of March, 1918.

When he had grown to manhood he left the old home in "York State" and came west to try his fortunes in a new country. He choose Osage as his home and here he was united in marriage with Francis Buckmaster on the 20th of June, 1878. The next year, Mr. and Mrs. Brush moved to New York and took up their residence in Brewster.

There they remained nine years returning to Osage in 1888. One child was born to them, Ernest Alonzo, now of Austin, Minn., who with his wife, will be the great comfort of his mother in her loneliness.

Mr. Brush leaves one sister, Mrs. Susan Grimies of San Diego, Cal. His only brother, Wilbur, having preceded him in death some years ago.

Mr. Brush has always been a man of good habits and clean life. A man whose language was always chaste and whose bearings was that of a Christian gentleman. Early in life he united with the Methodist church and on coming to a new town, he sought the fellowship of the church people and together with his wife joined the Methodist church in this city on Nov. 23, 1891.

As a testimony to his faith in the gospel of Christ this little stanza, copied by him and later found by his family, bears its silent assurance.

"Where the tree of life is blooming
There is rest for you."

Mr. Brush was a kind husband, a devoted father and a highly esteemed neighbor and citizen.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. C. Cleworth from the late home on Tuesday at 2:30. Burial was made in Osage cemetery.
