DUNTON RITES AT RICEVILLE
POSTMASTER OF TOWN DIES AFTER SHORT ILLNESS; SURVIVED BY 2

Osage, Apirl 10 – Fred Dunton, postmaster at Riceville, was buried Wednesday. He died suddenly Monday morning.

Mr. Dunton was serving his second term as postmaster. Previous to that he was a member of the Board of Supervisors.

Surviving are his wife, one daughter; Mrs. Lera Hinzman, who assisted him in the postoffice; a son, Leland, who lives in Montana and three brothers; Levi of Montana; Bert of Minneapolis; and A. B., a banker at Riceville.

Fred E Dunton was born September 1865 in Iowa, the son of Levi Barbour Dunton and Cynthia (Tyrrell) Dunton. He married Mary Ann Gooder, the daughter of John William Gooder and Selina (Bottomley) Gooder. (his birth date from the 1900 Census.
