MRS. HAMMOND FUNERAL IS CONDUCTED AT RICEVILLE

Riceville, May 26 – Final rites were held for Mrs. George Hammond, 78, at Riceville Wednesday.

Mrs. Hammond died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Koon at Mapleton, where she made her home for several years.

She is survived by two brothers; Arthur and Ernest Pingry; two daughters; Mrs. Koon; and Mabel Hammond at Cherokee, and two grandchildren.

Eva Pingry was born October 1857 in Winnebago Co., Wisconsin, the daughter of William Pingry and Adelia (Prouty) Pingry. (birth date from 1900 Census; parents from 1925 Iowa Census)

She married George Hammond, the son of Charles Hammond and Melissa (Bliss) Hammond on July 26, 1888.

They are buried in the Riverside Cemetery, Riceville, Mitchell, Iowa.
