MRS. AUGUSTA WORPLE

August 1, 1973 - January 11, 1948

Mrs. Augusta Worple, 75, living about 11 miles south of Riceville, passed away in the Elma Hospital at six o'clock last Sunday morning, January 11, 1948. Last Friday, while retiring for the night, she fell down the stairs in her home. She was brought to the hospital the next morning and as a result of her injuries died the next morning.

Funeral services were held in her home, Tuesday at 1 p.m. followed by services in St. Peter's Lutheran Church here in Riceville. Her pastor, The Rev. Walter Schroeder, officiating. Burial was in the Lutheran cemetery south of town. Pallbearers were Fred Myers, Lloyd Myers, Joe Reckner, Leo Worple, Roy Eschweiler, and Lavern Worple.

Augusta Julia Worple, daughter of Randall Myers and his wife, Henrietta, nee Kuessow, was born August 1, 1873 at Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. There she spent her childhood and youth.

February 4, 1914, she was married to Fred Worple, who preceded her in death, May 29, 1929. One son, Edward, was born to this union. Her married life and widowhood she spent near and in Elma, and during the later part of her life lived with her son and family on her farm, 11 miles south of Riceville.

Mrs. Worple was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, January 28, 1906. Since her marriage she was a faithful member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Riceville.

She leaves to mourn her son, Edward; one sister, Miss Katherine Myers, Alta Vista; and five grandchildren.
