DANIEL FELKEY
Daniel Felkey was born near Columbus, Ohio, December 3, 1826 and died at Armstrong, Iowa, November 20, 1908, aged 82 years, 11 months and 15 days. When a young man he moved with his parents to Moline, Illinois, where on December 4, 1846, he was united in marriage to Miss Florinda Brooks. To this union were born fourteen children all of whom are living except three who died when small.
Mr. Felkey moved to Wisconsin where he lived one year, when he moved to Mitchell county, Iowa, where he resided about twenty-two years, and then moved to South Dakota, and lived there about five years, and from there to Emmett county, Iowa, in 1885, where he has since resided. He spent a few years in the merchantile business in Armstrong, but most of his life was spent on a farm. For the past few years he lived a retired life.
He has been a worthy member of the Presbyterian church for many years. He was a kind and affectionate husband and father. He left besides his aged wife, eleven children: George, of Halfa, Harvey of Amstrong, Mrs. O. Neville of Estherville, Mrs. Sam Howard of Grantsburg, Wis., Mrs. Louis Bilharz of Orchard, Daniel of Montana, Edward of Armstrong, Asahel of Minneapolis, Mrs. Ida Cornwell and Mrs. Iva Alton of Fairmont, Minnesota, and Mrs. John Duffy of Armstrong.
The funeral was held Saturday at 12 o'clock at the Presbyterian church, conducted by Rev. E. Slessor and interment was made in the Armstrong cemetery.
