RUSSELL RITES WILL BE FRIDAY
RICEVILLE MAN, INJURED IN FALL, LEAVES WIDOW AND TWO SONS

Riceville, March 6 – Funeral services for Augustus Russell who fell on the street, causing concussion of the brain, are to be held Friday.

Besides his widow, he is survived by two sons, Frank and Clifford who are on their way here from California. Another son, Eddie, preceded him in death many years ago, as a result of being mangled by a traveling bear on exhibition here.

Mr. Russell is survived by a niece, Mrs. Helen Leffler of Livermore, who came to be with her aunt at this time. A nephew, Earl Hughes of Chicago also survives.

Upon the death of his twin sister, Mr. Russell took this niece and nephew into his home and cared for them through their high school days.

Henry Augustus Russell was born August 1858 in Iowa (1900 Census) , the son of Elias and Charlotte (Cole) Russell (1925 Iowa Census) .

He married Clara Idalia Warren, the daughter of Abel Fayette Warren and Martha (Albright) Warren Fassett.

The niece and nephew mentioned in the obit were the children of his sister Lucy Alinda Russell and James Thomas Hughes.
