Marian Louise Amundson was born June 3, 1917 to Adolph Amundson and Gustava Elise Erickson. She was the third of five children.

Marion was baptized at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church on July 8, 1917. Baptismal sponsors were: Mr. and Mrs. G. Framstad, George Framstad and Olga Olson. Marian was confirmed also at Rock Creek Lutheran on May 24, 1931.

Found Marion in the 1920 census living at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa with her parents: Adolph Amunson 37, Gusta Amunson 28, Alvin Amunson 7, Hilmen Amunson 5, Marian Amunson 2 [2 6/12], Alice Amunson 5 months.

Found in the 1925 census at Rock, Mitchell, Iowa: Marcan (should be Marian) Amundson age 7.

Found in the 1930 census at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa: Adolph Amundson 47, Gustie E Amundson 38, Marian L. Amundson 12, Alice N. Amundson 10, Vernon G. Amundson 3 5/12.

Marian married Vernon Ross Cockrum on June 5, 1937 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa. The couple had five children - 3 boys, 2 girls. They lived in Mitchell County, Iowa most of their married life.

Marian died on September 27, 1965 at Rochester, Olmsted, Minnesota. She was buried September 30, 1965 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
