OSAGE, IOWA - Alice Helen (DeLano) Malmin, 88, of Osage died Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at her home in Osage.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Osage, with the Rev. Roy Ott and Pastor Edward Bard, chaplain at Hospice of North Iowa, officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

#2:Alice Helen (DeLano) Malmin, age 88, of Osage, peacefully passed away in her home with the care of North Iowa Hospice and Rose Mustain, February 8, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2012, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage with Rev. Roy Ott and Pastor Edward Bard, Chaplain at Hospice of North Iowa, officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery. Visitation is from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2012, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.
Alice was born December 3, 1923, in Stacyville, Iowa, the daughter of Hugh and Rose (Adams) DeLano.
She was married in Richmond, California to Ernhart Malmin on October 14, 1943, and they were blessed with five children. They resided in California for 41 years until 1984 when they retired back to Osage, in Alice's home state of Iowa. Alice was a beautician and caterer. She loved to dance, play cards and bingo, and was an avid baker specializing in Norwegian pastry. They were life members of Sons of Norway. Alice was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, V.F.W. Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, the Senior Center, and other community related clubs.
The surviving family members are: a son, Allen (Lorraine) Malmin and their children, Mike B. Malmin and Sandy (Keith) Miller; a son, Karl (Donna) Malmin and their children Kelly (Bryan) Malgradi and Karla (Scott) Hirayama; a son, Kevin (Nancy) Malmin and their children, Lindy (Ben) Cannady, Michael A. Malmin (Jill Malmin-Krebsbach), and Kyle J. Malmin (Brandi Malmin-Hansen); a daughter, Rose Mustain and her children, Joseph Mustain and Carrie Hinders; a granddaughter, Kristina Malmin; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rose and Hugh DeLano; one brother, Edward; one sister, Irene and husband, Earl Benton; her husband, Ernhart; her son, Tom and wife, Julie; son-in-law, David "Ranch" Mustain; and granddaughters, Krystal Mustain and Jessy Malmin.
