Elizabeth “Libbie” (Andrews) Andrews – March 1856 – August 5, 1920
#1
Elizabeth “Libbie” Andrews was born March 1856 in Wisconsin, the daughter of James Andrews and Ann (VanPatten) Andrews. She married Theodore Sheldon Andrews, the son of Almon Andrews and Julia (Couse) Andrews.
Her mother died when she was seventeen, leaving to her care two younger children, Ida who has always lived with her, and her brother John Andrews of Columbus, Ohio.
She kept house for her father until her marriage July 9, 1874, to Theodore Andrews in Charles City.
After her marriage she not only mothered her brother and sister, but cared for five of her own, only two of whom are living, Mrs. Bertha Trebiel of Minneapolis, Minnesota and son Alva of Kelleher, Minnesota.
She has also cared for Alva's two children ever since their mother's death, which speaks volumes for her loving mother heart.
Just a month before her death she and her sister Ada and Alva's two children went from their home in Minneapolis. at Alva's request, to make her home with him, but a stroke of apoplexy ended her life.
She died August 5, 1920 in Kelliher, Beltrami Co., Minnesota. Burial was in the Osage Cemetery.
