Funeral services were conducted today at Immanuel Lutheran church for Mrs. Frederick Brandt,74, who died Monday morning at her home here. Mrs. Brandt had been in ill health for the past four years due to heart disease and had been confined to her bed much of the time during the past nine months.

Emilie Schroeder was born January 15, 1859 at Schlatikow, province of Pomerania, Germany. At this place she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. In 1876, when she was 17 years of age, she came to America with her parents, who made their home at Spring Valley, Minn., for a few years and then moved to Rock township.

She was married to Frederick Brandt June 30, 1882, and they lived on a farm in union township until 1901 when they moved to a farm 3 miles northwest of St. Ansgar. In 1912 they retired from the farm and came to live in St. Ansgar.

Two sons and three daughters were born to Mr. and Mrs. Brandt, all of whom survive. Three grandchildren and three brothers also survive. Mr. Brandt died Dec. 6th.
