Gilman Charles Rust

ST ANSGAR, IOWA - Funeral services for Gilman Charles Rust, 83, of rural St Ansgar, who died Saturday at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital at Osage, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Myrtle; a daughter, Mrs. Vallejo Bullis of Osage; a son, Allen of St. Ansgar; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Chatman of Osage and Miss Ida Rust of St. Ansgar.

Schroeder & Dunn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for Gilman C. Rust, 83, who died at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital in Osage July 12, were held July 15 at the St. Ansgar Methodist church with the Rev. Bruce Wittern officiating.

Gilman C. Rust was born in Mitchell county July 18, 1891, the son of Nels and Betsy (Mikkelson) Rust, and lived his entire life on a farm north of St. Ansgar. He was baptized and confirmed in First Lutheran church, St. Ansgar.

On July 19, 1920 he married Myrtle Marie Hansen, and later became a member of the Methodist church in St. Ansgar. Four children were born to them. Mr. Rust is survived by his wife, Myrtle of St. Ansgar; one daughter, Mrs. Vallejo (Katherine) Bullis of Osage; one son, Allen, of St. Ansgar; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Chatman of Osage and Miss Ida Rust of St. Ansgar; seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Henry and Frank, and two sons, Gene and Charles.

Burial was in First Lutheran cemetery with Rev. Witttern in charge of committal services.
