Funeral services for Mrs. Isabel S. Priem, 91, who died at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital August 11, 1876, were held August 15 at the First Lutheran church with the Rev. Don Comnick officiating.

Isabel Marie (Swain) Priem was born in Rock County, Wis. July 16, 1876. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith at Ordfordville, Wis. by the Rev. Mogelsen. In 1885 they moved to a farm north of St. Ansgar. She was confirmed October 5, 1890 in the First Lutheran church at St. Ansgar by the Rev. J. Olsen.

On December 20, 1900 she was united in marriage to Fred J. Priem, also of the Otranto community. Their marriage took place at the Congregational parsonage at Osage with the Rev. Preston officiating. This union was blessed with five children. They were privileged to spend 59 years of happy married life together until Mr. Priem's death January 2, 1960. She spent her entire life in the Otranto community with the exception of the last five years which she spent in the Lyle community, and the last six months at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar.

Saturday, August 5, she fell, suffering a broken hip, and submitted to surgery at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital. The shock was too much for her advanced years and frail body, and she died August 11 at the age of 91 years and 26 days.

Mrs. Priem was a faithful and active member of the First Lutheran church during her entire life, and held a life membership in the ladies' aid. She was a member of the Rebecca Circle of the church.

Surviving are her five children; three daughters, Mrs. Mae Schroeder of St. Ansgar, Mrs. Elmer (Hazel) Duenow of Mason City and Mrs. Ruth Robertson of Lyle; two sons, Harvey of Garnavillo and Lawrence of Lyle; also 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and one brother, Olavus Swain, who is in a rest home at Pine Island, Minn.; also a number of nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and an infant sister.

Burial was in the First Lutheran cemetery with Rev. Comnick in charge of the committal services.
