DIED WEDNESDAY
IN AUSTIN HOSPITALFred Walker, 76, former Mitchell county resident, died on Wednesday, January 19, 1949, at St. Olaf hospital in Austin. Funeral services were held on Saturday at Brownsdale, Minnesota.
Mr. Walker was born in Mitchell County in 1872, to Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Walker and was reared in the Burr Oak community. He was married to Katherine Runkle there, and four children were born to this union: Clair, Warren, Joseph, and Grace.
The Walkers left Mitchell county in 1915 and moved to Brownsdale where Mrs. Walker died. Mr. Walker later remarried.
While in Mitchell county he was prominent in community affairs and served for many years as Burr Oak township clerk.
Surviving are his wife, four children, and three sisters: Mrs. Wayland Kingsbury, Grace, and Ruth Walker, all of Seattle, Washington.

His full name was Alfred Ernest Walker born August 29, 1872, the son of Albert Martin Walker and Elizabeth (Williams) Walker. He was buried in the Greenwood Cemetery, Brownsdale, Mower county, Minnesota.
