Everett Wherry killed in Tractor Accident--
Everett Wherry, 53-year old McIntire, Iowa farmer was killed almost instantly early Sunday afternoon when the tractor and combine he was operating rolled into a ditch.
The accident occurred about 12:30 p.m. as Wherry, who farms near LeRoy, was towing a combine behind a tractor along a gravel road about three miles north of McIntire, just south of the Iowa-Minnesota border.

Mrs. Wherry was following him in a truck.

The Mitchell County sheriff's office believes Wherry lost control of the tractor when the combine struct the branch of a tree. The tractor swerved into the ditch, throwing him and tipping the tractor on his head. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. M. P. Morse of LeRoy.
