Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 22, 1986 at Champion Funeral Home in Osage for Myrtle Torgerson, 76, formerly of Osage, and now of Riceville. The Rev. Dennis Hanson officiated, and burial was in St. Olaf Cemetery in Bode. Miss Torgerson died on Saturday, July 19, 1986 at the Osage hospital.

Miss Torgerson was born on February 6, 1910 at Bode, to Trygve and Marie (Watnem) Torgerson. She attended Bode schools and graduated from Thompson Beauty School in Des Moines.

She worked for ten years as a beautician in California. In 1947 she came to Osage where she opened and operated her own beauty shop, retiring in 1978. For the past six yeawrs she lived with her sister in Riceville.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Ronald (Verna) May of Humboldt and Mrs. Maynard (Wilma) Satern of Riceville; a brother, Donald Torgerson of New Haven; and several nieces and nephews.
