Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 8, 1986, for Rex Penney, 57, former resident of Mitchell County and Little Cedar area, now of Dorchester, Wisconsin, at the funeral home in Abbatsford, Wisconsin. Mr. Penney died on Saturday, April 5, 1986 in a Marshfield, Wisconsin, hospital.

He was born on August 21, 1928 to Clinton (Joe) and Thelma Penney at Little Cedar. He attended school in Little Cedar and graduated from high school there in 1946.

In October of 1949 he married Lydia Persynski at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They farmed in the Little Cedar area until 1959 when they moved to Dorchester, Wisconsin.

He is survived by his wife, Lydia; seven children: Joe of Dorchester, Mrs. David (Connie) Frahm of Edgar, Wisconsin, Jerry of Leucadia, Calif., Rodney of Dorchester, Vicki at home, Mrs. Steve Witmer (Lynne) of Marshfield, Mass., and Scott at home; two sisters, Mrs. Robert McSweeney of Springville, Iowa, and Ruth Arnold of Mason City; one brother, Dean Penney of Springville, Iowa; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
