Funeral services were held Saturday, March 29, 1986, at United Methodist Church in Osage, Iowa, for Bessie Roby, 99, of Osage, who died on Tuesday, March 25, 1986 at a St. Ansgar, Iowa, nursing home.

Rev. J. Pittman officiated and burial was in the Osage City Cemetery.

Mrs. Roby was born on August 1, 1886 in Moorefield, West Virginia, to Seymor and Katherine (Baldwin) Kuykendall. She attended schools in West Virginia and married Henry Roby in Cumberland, Maryland. They came to Iowa and settled in Mitchell County in 1920. In 1943 they moved to Osage. Mr. Roby died in 1966.

Mrs. Roby was a member of the United Methodist Church in Osage.

Survivors include one daughter, Mabel Roby Voshell of Osage; one son, Ralph of Charles City; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, William Kuykendall of Cherokee.
