Kenneth Cordell "Ken" Duryee Sr.

Kenneth "Ken" Cordell Duryee, Sr. 72, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 25, 2006.

He was married on June 14, 1955 in Charles City, Iowa to Mary Ditzler. To this union, was born three children: Kenda, Ken, Jr., and Bret. Ken was the most caring and loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle and blessed the lives of all he touched. His ever calm and gentle nature made him dearly loved by all.

Ken is survived by his living wife, Mary; his daughter, Kenda (Don) Fisher and son, Bret; daughter-in-law; Joanne; grandchildren: John (J.J.) and Ben Ortega, Tammy, Allicia (Sean) Buchanan, Corey and Samantha; great-grandchildren: Alissa, Bradley, Eva, Christina and David; brothers, Loren (Leone) Craig (Karen) Lane (Terry); sisters: Darla (Ted) Tegland, Nola Hauck and Sharla (Jon) Lieder; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in passing by his son, Ken Jr.; his parents, Kenneth and Opal; and five siblings.

Ken achieved an Associate of Arts degree from North Park College in Chicago in 1957. He began and continued his 24 year career in Radiology at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago; achieving the position of Head Radiological Technician and retiring in 1978. He then moved his family to Colorado Springs.

A Memorial Services will be held at Pulpit Rock Church, 301 Austin Bluffs Parkway, Colorado Springs, CO., 80918 on Friday, December 1, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastors Mark Tuggle and Jack Rants officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pulpit Rock Church, Children's Ministry, attn: Tonya Marler. A reception will follow the service.
