Guud Olsen Brager was born about January 1846 (or January 1, 1847) at the Braka farm, Valdres, Aurdal, Oppland, Norway to parents Ole Ellandsen Landsenden Brager (Braka) and Kari Olsdatter Søndre Grøv. Found many versions of his first name: Guul, Guud, G.O., Geral, George and his surname: Brager, Braka, Bragger.
His father, Ole Brager was born April 12, 1806 at Hadal Sor, Valdres, Oppland, Norway and died July 16, 1887 at Black Earth, Dane, Wisconsin.
His mother, Kari Olsdatter Søndre Grøv, was born April 10, 1814 Oppland, Norway and died October 31, 1882 at Black Earth, Dane, Wisconsin). (They had married October 10, 1831 in Norway.)Guul Brager had eleven siblings:

Christopher Olsen Brager (born 1853 Oppland, Norway).Guul emigrated about 1866 to Black Earth, Dane, Wisconsin, many family members also came to Wisconsin.
Guul married Anna Sophia Arnesdatter Stensrud on September 15, 1871 and believe they had three sons:
Oscar (born 1874, died 1875, buried at Osage, Iowa City Cemetery);
Oswald Adolph Brager (born in Osage, Mitchell, Iowa on April 1877, died December 1939 at Minneapolis, MN); and
Albert G. Brager (born June 1880 Minnesota).Anna Sophia Arnesdatter (born April 9, 1847 Oppland, Norway to Arne Olsen Stensrud and Berit Olsdatter) had emigrated 1852 to Wisconsin. Anna died November 18, 1881 and is buried at the Osage City Cemetery, Osage, Mitchell, Iowa.
Found in the 1880 census at Albert Lea, Freeborn, Minnesota: Gereld O. Brager 33 ,Sophia Brager 32, Adolph Brager 3.
Guul Brager made his living as a tailor both in Norway and the United States. He traveled by ship to return to his homeland Norway in the winter of 1894/1895 for a visit, staying about 3 months.
Guud's second wife was Karine Docken (Thidemandsen, Thompsen, variations of Karine's surname Docken) whom he married on December 16, 1883 at Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. They had a daughter named Cora Elina (born February 1, 1890 Osage, Mitchell, Iowa, married William H. Almgren April 12, 1911 Minneapolis, Minnesota, died January 1981 at Minneapolis, Minnesota).
Karine Docken was born August 1864 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa to Thidemand Thidemandsen Docken and Gunhild Aslesdatter and died January 20, 1932 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa, the third of eleven children.
Found Guul Brager in the 1885, 1895, 1900, 1910, 1920, 1925 censuses at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa:
1885: G. D. Brager 37, Carnica Brager 30, Oswald Brager 7, Albert Brager 4.
1895: Guul is 48 yrs old.
1900: Gerral O Brager 54, Karin Brager 35, Oswald Brager 23, Albert Brager 19, Cora Brager 10.
1910: George H Brager 63, Carrie Brager 45, Cora Brager 20.
1920: G O Broger 73, Corrine Broger 55.
1925: Gull O Brager 78, Carne Brager 60.Guud Olsen Brager died July 7, 1925 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa and is buried at the Osage City Cemetery there. Both wives also buried there.
