BRYCE W. CARTER -- OBITUARY

Funeral services for Bryce W. Carter were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the Peterson Brothers Chapel with Rev. L. C. Smith officiating.

The pallbearers were Gunnar Overgaard, Levi Bettger, A. E. Nordstrom, Carl Rasmusson, J. P. Cameron and Fran Osteraas.
Honorary pallbearers were E. L. Galloway, Rep. Eugene Knudson, Emil Aspaas, Larry Reider of St. Cloud, Drew Heath, David Loughrey, Sidney Bend and Howard Clark of Minneapolis.

The interment took place at Cloverleaf Memorial Cemetery, Willmar, Kandiyohi, Minnesota.

Bryce William Carter was born in Mitchell County, Iowa on April 17, 1893, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Carter. On completion of his schooling, he began his work with the Great Northern in the capacity of station agent in various places in North Dakota. Thirty Seven years ago he transferred to Willmar, where he was ticket agent for the railroad.

Mr. Carter has always taken an active part in various community and civic affairs. He served as County Chairman for the March of Dimes Polio Foundation since its inception in 1934. He quietly and unassumingly carried many of the responsibilities of the polio work here in this county. His devotion to his duty and his many acts of kindness will not be forgotten.

For the past winter he has been in failing health and had been hospitalized about a month ago. He passed away at the Rice Memorial Hospital on Saturday, June 22, 1957 at the age of 64 years, 2 months, and 5 days.

He is survived by his wife Stella, 2 daughters; (Phyllis) Mrs. John Mitchell of Natick, Mass; (Patricia) Mrs. Russell Harding of Willmar, one son Robert at home, and 4 grandchildren.

Also surviving are 1 sister, Mrs. Harold Aspel of McIntire, Iowa; 4 brothers; Hugh of Alta Vista, Iowa; Glenn and Perry of Bailey, Iowa; Gail of Hascal, Okla.; besides other relatives and friends.
