Endre Olson was born in the year 1820 in Hallingdal, Norway, where he remained until manhood. In 1847 he was married to Gure Amundson and together with his wife left his native land the following year reaching Rock County, Wisconsin. Having spent his first four years in America in that county, he moved to Filmore Co., Minn, where he remained two years and came to this county in the year 1854. From that time up to the time of his death, July 12, 1895, he has lived on the piece of land he then bought of the government.

Ole E. and Amos E. are the only two out of seven children remaining to mourn with mother the loss of an always kind father and faithful husband. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. Olsen at the N. Lutheran Church. Burial was in the N.L. cemetery north of town.
