Henry Clayton, Mitchell
Lad, Died at
Oakdale Sanitarium

The people of Mitchell are mourning the loss of one of their young men, Henry Clayton, son of Mrs. Charles Clayton.

Henry, who was about 21 years of age, suffered some time ago a hard case of flu, then recently he had pneumonia, with the result that his lungs were badly affected. Six weeks ago he became suddenly much worse, and was taken to the sanitarium at Oakdale for treatment. The disease was too far advanced, however, to respond to treatment, and before his mother could reach his bedside he had passed away.

Saturday the body was brought to Mitchell for burial, services being conducted by his pastor, the Reverend Van Swearingen, and he was placed in the family lot where four members of the family have been brought for burial in a few years' time.

Henry was a relative of Mrs. Hans Peterson and Mrs. A. E. Gifford, and other families living here, who attended the funeral.

His father preceded him in death three years ago and he is survived by a sister, Josephine, who has a position in Dubuque, and an 18-year-old brother, Thomas, who is at home with his mother.
