OBITUARY OF MRS. WIEGENER,
ST. ANSGAR WOMAN,
DIED LAST WEEK

Mrs. Wilhelmine Wiegner, nee Ziesler, was born October 12, 1844 at Stolberg, Saxony, Germany, where she was also baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church. Later on she prepared for deaconess work in the deaconess hospital at Dresden, following this profession for six years.

In 1876 she came to St. Ansgar, and on June 7, of the same year was married to Reverend E. Wiegner, the first pastor of Immanuel's Lutheran Church. Here she spent the rest of her life with the exception of last winter when she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Uhlig, at Cedar Rapids.

May 12, 1890, her husband died of influenza, leaving her to bring up a large family in straitened circumstances.

Sunday, June 1, she attended public worship and partook of the Lord's Supper, apparently in fair health. Monday she became indisposed and on Wednesday her condition showed a decided turn for the worse and in a few hours she peacefully fell asleep without a struggle, having attained the age of 79 years, 7 months and 22 days.

Her surviving children are: Mrs. Magdalena Rothe, Fort Dodge, Iowa; Mrs. Emma Janzow, Stillwater, Minnesota; Reverend Paul Wiegner, Langenburg, Saskatchewan, Canada; Mrs. Hanna Uhlig, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Mrs. Elisabeth Janzow, St. Ansgar, Iowa; Mrs. Martha Koepke, Fort Dodge, Iowa; Ewald Wiegner, student at Concordia College, Springfield, Illinois; and twenty-nine grandchildren. She also has an aged sister still living in Germany.

Funeral services were held last Saturday with interment at Immanuel's Lutheran Cemetery, where she is now slumbering at the side of her sainted husband.

The newspaper spelled her maiden name ZIESLER, but we can't be sure of the proper spelling.
