Aadne Nordbo was born on January 28, 1838, in Evje parish, Satersdalen, Norway, and died of heart disease at Eagle Grove, Iowa, December 17, 1895, being nearly 58 years of age. He grew to manhood in his native land. Being studiously and religiously inclined, obtained a good education and became a teacher. In 1879 he came to America and spent a short time in Augsburg Seminary which was at that time located at Marshall, Wisconson. Following this, he went to the northwest and took up the work of missionary, laboring among the men constructing the Northwestern Pacific Railroad and for this work he was liberally paid by the company. In 1872, he was married to Miss Anna Davidson and in 1876 they removed to St. Ansgar, when he took up the work of teacher of the parochial school and choirster and clerk in the church, in which work he continued for seventeen years. In 1878 his wife died and in 1880 he was united in marriage to Miss Anne Syverud, who survives him. In 1895 he removed to Eagle Grove, Iowa, where he resided at the time of his death. During the last two years he was engaged part of the time as a teacher and part of the time doing missionary work in the western part of the state. Besides his wife, there remains his loss a daughter ten years of age. They have the sympathy of all in their bereavement. The funeral services were held at the Norwegian Lutheran church at St. Ansgar, Tuesday December 19, 1895, Rev. J. Olsen officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery.
