Funeral services for Harry August Ring, 88, were held Saturday, April 27, 1991, at 1 p.m. in St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Riceville with Rev. R. Pfeil officiating. Mr. Ring passed away Wednesday, April 24, 1991, at the Riceville Community Rest Home, from natural causes. He had been ill for nearly a year.

Harry Ring was born on December 2, 1902 in Howard County, Iowa, the son of August and Minnie Ring. He lived all of his life in this region and was an electrician by trade. He attended a Howard County country school.

On July 16, 1930 he was united in marriage with Mable Dilly, and to this union three children were born, two sons, Earl and Wilford, and a daughter, Esther. Mable passed away on August 20, 1974. On December 27, 1975, he was united in marriage to Vivian Fuoss. Harry enjoyed his garden and many flowers.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian, Riceville; on eson, Wilford, McIntire, Iowa; one daughter, Mrs. Esther Gilbert, Wildwood, Illinois; one sister, Lena Kruger, one brother, Clarence, both of Riceville; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Mable; one son, Earl; one grandson, Russell Ring; four brothers: Jack, Emil, Fred and Charlie; and two sisters, Annie Utesch and Lizzie Miller.

Interment was in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery with the Conway Funeal Home in charge of arrangements.
