MRS. JOHN THOME DIES FROM CANCER,

Stacyville, Iowa, March 3. - Special - Mrs. John Thome died at her home east of Stacyville, Monday morning, after a long illness with cancer.

Sarah Steiger was born on August 15, 1872, near Stacyville, and lived in this vicinity all her life.

She was married on September 10, 1889, to John Thome. To this union were born twelve children, eight of whom survive their mother: Frank, John, Joe, Arnold, Albert, Roman, Florentine, and Mrs. John Muller. Nine brothers and sisters also survive: Mrs. John E. Hemann and Mrs. Peter Hemann, Meyer; Mrs. Anna Thelen, Leroy; Mrs. Mary Kramer, Bancroft; Mrs. John Kerns, Oelwein; Mrs. Math Rauen, Johnsburg; Mrs. Bernard Adams, Frank and Fred Steiger, Stacyville. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at Sacred Heart church, Meyer, and burial was made in the cemetery there.
