George Lewis Badker was born June 24, 1906 at probably Foxhome, Minnesota (his parents are found in the 1905 census at Foxhome, Wilkin, Minnesota) to Frank Joseph Badker and Etta Martha Carothers.
Found George Lewis in the 1910 census at Center Grove, Dickinson, Iowa: Frank Badker 30, Etta Badker 27, Helen Badker 6, Louis Badker 4 (George Lewis), Dean Badker 3(Emma Dean), Babe (Margaret) Badker 1 month.
Found in the 1920 census at Clear Lake, Deuel, South Dakota: Frank J Badker 40, Etta Badker 37, Helen Badker 15, Louis (George Lewis) Badker 13, Emadine (Emma Dean) Badker 12, Margaret Badker 10, Frankie Badker 7, John Badker 3 yrs, 5 mos., William Badker 8 mos.
Found in the 1930 census at Ortonville, Big Stone, Minnesota, working as a garage mechanic. Frank Bodker 50, Etta Bodker 46, Helen Bodker 25, George Bodker 24, Enmdson Bodker 22 (Emma Dean), Margaret Bodker 20, Frank Bodker 17, John Bodker 12, William Bodker 11, Jacques Bodker 10(James), Carles Bodker 8(Charles), Wallis Bodker 5/12 (Walter Hagan, son of Margaret Badker Hagan).
George married Florence Mary Dargan on March 19, 1931 at Adams, Mower, Minnesota. They had 10 children, 6 boys, 4 girls. Their oldest son, George Lewis Jr; oldest daughter, Constance Ann and youngest son, William Duane are deceased as of 2011.
George worked for farmers, for Kleckner and Hartwig Co. installing field tile and at Winnebago Industries in Forest City, IA. before retirement. He and Florence visited their daughter in Rapid City, ND often and made trips to Oregon and California to visit relatives. He was baptized on September 16, 1966 by the Rev L E Reuter at Osage, Iowa. Florence and George celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception and dance. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, his family, cards and telling stories or jokes.
George died on March 11, 1992 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa, after a long battle with health problems. His funeral was held March 14, 1992 at 10 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Osage, Mitchell, Iowa, with the Rev Paul Otting presiding. Pall bearers were his grandsons. He was buried at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Riceville, Mitchell, Iowa.
