Constance (Connie) Ann Badker was born October 30, 1934 at Riceville, Mitchell, Iowa, to George Lewis Badker and Florence Mary Dargan. She was the oldest daughter and had nine siblings.

She married Leon Kenneth Thome April 16, 1953 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Adams, Mower, Minnesota. They lived on a farm near Stacyville, Iowa. They had eight children (all living in 2011 except Bruce Vincent DePaul Thome (born October 21, 1954 Osage, Mitchell, Iowa, died October 22, 1978 San Bernadino, California). Connie and Leon were divorced about 1978.

Connie married Peter Duren on December 19, 1986; they had no children.

She is remembered with love by her children as a loving mother, a hard worked, a great baker and her laughter. She is survived by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Connie died April 6, 1991 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa after a long battle with cancer. Funeral services were held April 9, 1991 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Osage, Mitchell, Iowa, and she was buried at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Osage, Mitchell, Iowa.
