Robert James Cody

January 7, 1954 - April 9, 1978

Funeral services for Robert James Cody, 24, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Cody of Riceville, were held on Wednesday, april 12, 1978, at the Ankeny Funeral Home, Ankeny, Iowa, with Dr. Robert Dodder of the First United Methodist Church of Ankeny, Iowa as officiant.

Mr. Cody was killed in a boat accident on the Des Moines River near Des Moines on Sunday, April 9, 1978.

Graveside services were held at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Riceville, Iowa on Wednesday, April 12, with Rev. B. Hinrichs, pastor of the St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Riceville, as officiant.

Robert James Cody was born on January 7, 1954 at Columbus, Indiana. He attended school and graduated from Central Dallas High School, Minburn, Iowa, in 1972. He lived in Ankeny, Iowa and was engaged to be married to Karla Bond of Ankeny on June 10, 1978. He was an apprentice offset printer for Great Plains Publishing Company. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Ankeny, and was also a member of the International Printing and Graphic Communications Union.

He is survived by his parents, Riceville; a sister, Mrs. Cindy Beyer of Mitchell, Iowa; three brothers: Bill, Fayette, Iowa, and Tom and Tim, both at home; and a maternal grandmother, Mrs. August Anderson, of Cylinder, Iowa.
