Funeral services were held Monday, January 5, 1987 at Conway Funeral Chapel in Riceville for Bernard Mensink, 81, of Riceville. He died on Friday, January 2, 1987 at a Rochester, Minnesota hospital. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Riceville.

He was born on October 19, 1905 in Minnesota and moved to Iowa at an early age. He worked as a handyman all his life.

Survivors include Pearl Eissler, with whom he made his home for 24 years, Riceville; two daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Geraldine) Messner of Winthrop, Minnesota, and Mrs. Gertrude Campbell of Galt, Missouri; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Frances Arens of Riceville, and Mrs. Johanna Beck of Mason City; and a brother, Daniel of Rushford, Minnesota.
