MRS. F. J. TROWBRIDGE DIES
Lottie Andrews was born in Greenfield, Pennsylvania June 30, 1826. When a young girl she went with her parents to live near Cleveland, Ohio, and later settled with them in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin. It was here that she met and married F. J. Trowbridge, on October 5, 1847. They made their home in Wisconsin until the summer of 1865 when they moved to Iowa, and settled on a farm near Orchard. Here they remained until twenty-eight years ago, when they moved to Osage.
To this couple were born nine children. Only two of them survived her, Mrs. Olive Morse and Mrs. Dora Biglow of Alden, Minnesota. The seven children who died in infancy and the husband preceded Mrs. Trowbridge to the higher life.
Mr. F. J. Trowbridge died on April 4, 1904. To them was alloted a long and faithful companionship, fifty-seven years.
Mr. and Mrs. Trowbridge had at three different times lost the only child they had, but they were always brave and took comfort in the blessed fact that they had each other. [Later] she willingly and happily made her home with her daughters, living with Mrs. Morse and visiting Mrs. Biglow every summer.
Besides these two daughters, she leaves her two sons-in-law, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, an aged brother and a sister, to miss her loving presence. They do not mourn her going, for her life had been full of suffering the last few months.
She was a member of the Universalist church, devoted to her faith and all its services, when able, always found her in her place of worship. She was present for the last time, Sunday morning, September 3. . . .
