Funeral services were held on Friday, April 26, 1985 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage for Herbert Mueller, 89, who died on Tuesday, April 23, 1985 at the St. Ansgar [Good Samartian Center] nursing home. Rev. Kit Belk officiated and burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Mitchell. Military rites were conducted by American Legion Post 278.
Mr. Mueller was born on October 6, 1895 in Nebraska, the son of Rev. August and Gertrude Mueller. He lived in _______, Grand Island and McCook, Nebraska, pior to moving to Osage. He later moved to Algona for a short time where he farmed.
He was a World War I veteran and served in France from August 1918 to January 1919.
Mr. Mueller then returned to Osage and worked for various farmers. He worked and lived on the Frank Schmidt farm for 50 years.
He was a member of the American Legion in Osage.
Survivors include one sister, Esther Clark of Des Moines and one brother, Albert of Norristown, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his parents and ten brothers and sisters.
