Mrs. Sandra Kay "Sandi" (nee Shaw) Coleman, age 62, of Albany, Georgia, died on Tuesday April 8, 2008, in Albany, following a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 12, 2008, at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church. Rev. Ray Levreault officiated.

Sandra was born on August 12, 1945, and graduated from St. Ansgar Senior High School, in St. Ansgar, Iowa. She was also a graduate of St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Rochester, Minnesota and was a member of St. Teresa’s Catholic Church. She also lived in Ames, Iowa before moving to Albany ten years ago. She was a retired nurse and worked in Sales. She loved to work with people and spend time with her grandchildren. She was also in the Albany Day Lily Club.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Kermit and Ruth Shaw.

Survivors include her husband James Coleman of Leesburg; two sons Timothy V. Coleman and his wife Kelly of Toledo Ohio; Joseph J. Coleman and his wife Lynn of Leesburg; a brother Howard Shaw and his wife Sandra of Racine, Wisconsin; five grandchildren Brennan, Colleen, and Eryn Coleman, Nicole and Simon Lavas; Several nieces and nephews.

A Prayer Service was held on Friday at 7:00 PM at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Albany Community Hospice, 2332 Lake Park, Drive, Albany, Georgia, 31707, or to the American Cancer Society, 323 Pine Ave, Albany, Georgia 31701.
