Services are pending for Loren "Smitty" Smith, 66, of Phoenix, Arizona, former Mitchell and Worth County resident. Mr. Smith died on Monday, December 2, 1985 at his home, after a long illness.

Mr. Smith worked for Armour Meat Co. from 1950-1971 when he retired.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Christiansen of Phoenix; a daughter, Janice Benttine of Osage; two sons, Gary of Bradenton, Florida, and Dennis of Phoenix; three grandchildren and one step-grandchild; a brother, Harold of Phoenix; two sisters, Sylvia Brunsvold of Belle Plain, Minnesota, and Elmira Wandrey of Plainview, Minnesota.

Any memorials will go to the American Cancer Society.
