ARNOLD F STANEK, 80, OF LOVELAND DIED MARCH 21, 2006 AT HIS HOMEArnold F. Stanek was born May 1, 1925, in Austin, Minn., to Albert and Caroline Yaroshek Stanek. He worked as a master carpenter, building homes in Austin until 1961. He then moved to Rapid City, S.D., and built homes in that area.
Mr. Stanek served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II with the Fighting 4th. He was wounded in Saipan and Iwo Jima and received two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. He was past president of the Colorado Marine Chapter 32. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marion (Wagner) Stanek of Loveland; seven sons, Dan Stanek and wife Diane of Gypsum, Gene Stanek and wife Cindy of Billings, Mont., Mark Stanek of Ogden, Utah, Steve Stanek and wife Trina of Rifle, Paul Stanek of Rapid City, S.D., Craig Stanek and wife Stacy of Riverton, Wyo., and Jon Stanek and wife Becky of Billings, Mont.; two daughters, Kathy Seeliger and husband Jim of Appleton, Wis., and Nancy Stanek of Thornton; brothers Bernie Stanek of Austin, Minn., Stanley (Bud) Stanek of Austin, and Don Stanek of Mandan, N.D.; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John’s Catholic Church, 1730 W. 12th St. in Loveland.
Interment will be 10 a.m. Monday at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver with military honors.
Memorial contributions can be made to the St. John’s Catholic Church Building Fund or the McKee Cancer Center in care of Viegut Funeral Home, 1440 N. Boise Ave., Loveland, CO 80538.

Arnold Francis Stanek married Marion Loretta Wagner, the daughter of Bernard “Barney” Wagner and Catherine (Schneider) Wagner-Wolf.Marion Wagner was born on May 16, 1925 in Stacyville, Mitchell Co., Iowa.
Her father Barney Wagner died in 1928 and her mother married Albert Joseph Wolf, also born in Stacyville, the son of Joseph Wolf and Margaret (Thome) Wolf.
Marion was still alive in 2008 when her sister Dorothy (Wagner) Hemann passed away.
