Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 19, 1985, at Trinity Lutheran Church for Mrs. Verna Olson, 65, of Osage. Rev. Kit Belk officiated at the service with burial in the Osage Cemetery. Mrs. Olson died on Monday, December 16, 1985, at her home. Champion Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She was born on July 24, 1920 in Mitchell County, Iowa, to Herbert and Linda (Groth) Frese. She attended rural schools in Osage. She and Jean Olson were married in Osage on August 12, 1945. The couple farmed in Osage until 1977. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage.

Mrs. Olson is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Steve (Janet) Ham of Osage; two sons, John of Osage and James of Forest City; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Oscar (Fern) Erickson of Monona and Mrs. Arnold (Leola) Matters of Waltham, Minnesota.
